This Grade II listed former hydraulic pumping station on the corner of Bridge Street was designed by the architect Henry Price.

t is the only surviving Edwardian hydraulic pumping station in the city and it used to supply power to the warehouses and even wound the Town Hall clock and raised the curtain at the Opera House!

Formerly the National Museum of Labour History, it has been known by its present name since 2001.
