Jackson's Warehouse was built for the Rochdale Canal Company in 1836 and required structural repairs, stone repairs, formation of window opening, re-pointing and cleaning.
After carrying out numerous samples to this Grade 2 listed complex, it was agreed the most sympathetic approach was to use a low pressure controlled wet abrasive system to the external fabric, and a low pressure abrasive system of varying MOH values for the internal brickwork, timber and steel.
Burnaby Stone Care also carried out a restoration package including:
full external re-point utilising a Heritage approved lime mortar
stitch and pinning of loose masonry units
indenting and replacement of new stone units to heads, cills and parapet to match existing.
